Hi there.
It’s hard to say which one is better. But basically, Joomla is good for you if you have little or no prior experience setting up a website. It keeps things really simple and does not come with all the complications we usually see in a CMS system.
On the other hand, Drupal is a full fledged system for developing websites. It involves a lot of settings and high-end capabilities that might overwhelm a newbie. Another great advantage with Drupal is that, unlike Joomla, it is SEO friendly – which helps in creating websites that can give you back some revenue. Of course the latest versions of Joomla have provision for SEO, but it still has a very long way to go.
I’m not downplaying Joomla at all. If you want a personal or hobby-based website, there is indeed nothing better than Joomla, but for creating truly professional and high-end websites, nothing beats Drupal.

William
