U.S. business-to-business e-commerce will grow from US$1.2 trillion this year to $4.8 trillion in transaction value by 2004. The Boston Consulting Group expects online purchasing to make up 40 percent of total b-to-b purchasing in 2004. But only one in 10 purchases will involve online price negotiations.
