Citrix Systems, a supplier of access infrastructure solutions, has made available Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager, Version 2.2, which aims to provide secure access to critical business information over the Web from both inside and outside corporate networks.
The latest version of the product is designed to support increased mobility and flexibility by enabling access to Microsoft Outlook synchronization and offering workers the ability to choose between using an existing portal, an intranet and/or Web pages as alternative user interfaces -- in addition to MetaFrame Secure Access Manager's "access centre" -- based on their specific enterprise requirements.
Chris Norton, Citrix SA (South Africa) country manager, says, "As Citrix's access infrastructure continues to provide the foundation for our customers' access strategies, we have seen increasing demand for access to synchronization of Microsoft Outlook and support for alternative user interfaces. The additions to MetaFrame Secure Access Manager present an excellent opportunity to expand our business to better address the needs of both our existing clients and new customers seeking a comprehensive, flexible, secure enterprise access solution."
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager aims to provide fast deployment and secure single-point access to aggregated information over the Web, based on job roles and access policies -- without compromising security or ease of access.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 aims to enable mobile workers to securely synchronize a locally installed Outlook application from anywhere, whether connected over the Web or within the enterprise. It is also designed to allow administrators to securely integrate existing intranets, Web pages and enterprise portals into their access infrastructure while leveraging Secure Access Manager's role-based access control, MetaFrame Presentation Server integration, and SSL-based secure connectivity.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager is said to be the most cost-effective way to get secure remote access over the Web to any application, ICT service or information source. Using a set of easy-to-use, wizard-driven configuration tools, ICT administrators can centrally control and manage access based on corporate policies, and set parameters for how ICT services are used by all of their customers - no matter their job function or user location, the company says.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 is part of the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite, access infrastructure for the on-demand enterprise that centralizes access to applications and information, which aims to enable ICT staff to deliver, manage, monitor and measure enterprise resources on demand. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 provides seamless integration with Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server, the foundation of the suite, as well as the other products that comprise the suite, the company concludes.
