Citrix announces new status for MetaFrame XP

Citrix Systems on Monday announced that the Network Manager component of its MetaFrame XP software has been certified for integration with IBM Corp.’s Tivoli NetView technology management software.

The Citrix Network Manager solution is a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) reporting tool, which allows allowing users to monitor server, apps, licences and printers remotely. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based enterprise application provider noted the IBM ‘Ready for Tivoli’ certification means the software has been tested for connectivity with the Tivoli NetView product.

The joint solution is designed to allow enterprises to manage servers, network databases and other resources via a single interface. Through a Network Manager plug-in designed specifically for Tivoli, Citrix said the solutions enable network administrators to perform Citrix MetaFrame XP server farm management tasks -- including performance counters, licensing and process information and server data -- directly from Tivoli NetView.
