Paolo Ragone leaves after more than 10 years at the eBay Classifieds Group

Gumtree Australia’s chief technology officer, Paolo Ragone, is departing the role after more than half a decade at the organisation and a decade within the broader eBay Classifieds Group.

“Paolo has made the decision to explore new opportunities,” a Gumtree spokesperson said. “While we’re sad to see him go, we’re extremely grateful for the great things he has achieved during his time with us.”

Ragone originally joined the eBay Classified Group in 2006 in Spain. He was appointed Gumtree Australia CTO in late 2011.

“His departure has opened up an exciting opportunity for a new CTO to join the Gumtree Australia leadership team and lead our technology strategy and operations,” the Gumtree spokesperson said.

“We are looking for an agile leader who possesses vast experience in Java-based products, a passion for mobile technologies and devotion to cultivating and growing a technology team while also helping keep our custo mers happy and successful.”

The company is currently accepting applications for the CTO position.

The eBay subsidiary operates in 76 cities across 11 countries.
