Labor took a policy of resurrecting a system of technical schools to the 2014 state election.
The Victorian government has allocated $116 million for the construction of the schools, and the state budget, handed down today included $24 million over four years for the costs of operating the new institutions.
The schools will open in 2017 and 2018.
“We promised 10 Tech Schools across Victoria, and we’re delivering them,” acting premier James Merlino said.
