iiNet appoints new CFO

Snaffles Officeworks chief financial officer, Michael Howard

Internet service provider iiNet has appointed a new chief financial officer.

iiNet has tapped Officeworks CFO Michael Howard for the position, the ISP announced this morning.

"Michael has an impressive background in large and respected Australian retail companies and his appointment is a coup for iiNet," iiNet CEO David Buckingham said in a statement.

"With over 20 years of experience in the competitive retail landscape, he brings the ideal credentials to help iiNet continue to grow by providing the best products and services for our customers."

Howard has held the CFO position at Officeworks since November 2007.

Buckingham joined iiNet in 2008 as CFO and company secretary. In November 2013 he was appointed interim CEO. In July last year he was confirmed as the ISP's CEO.

Chief regulatory officer Steve Dalby announced last week that he had left iiNet.
