Oracle has teamed with SmartTrust to offer a secure solution for mobile transactions on global system for mobile (GSM) networks. In the plan, Oracle9I Application Server Wireless Edition will support SmartTrust's Secure Server's wireless public key infrastructure technology. Oracle said as a result of the solution, information passing through wireless application protocol gateways will no longer be exposed to clear text during the wireline to wireless transaction. The information will only be decrypted into clear text by the mobile device itself, using the authentication key stored in the subscriber identity module card.
