Telstra will sell the Sony Xperia Z in Australia from Tuesday 26 March, the telco has revealed today.

The Xperia Z will be available on four Telstra Every Day Connect plans, including the hero offer of $3 per month handset repayments on the $60 plan over 24 months.

This plan includes $600 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1GB of data per month.

Handset repayments for the Xperia Z aren't required on Telstra's $80 and $100 Every Day Connect plans, or the $130 Unlimited plan. Telstra will also sell the Xperia Z outright for $624.

Telstra confirmed that the first 1000 customers who pre-order the Sony Xperia Z online before Tuesday 26 March will receive a free Sony wireless NFC speaker valued at $129.

The telco also revealed that the Xperia X has received a Blue Tick coverage rating for superior coverage in regional and rural areas of Australia.

Telstra will sell black and white variants of the Xperia Z in selected bricks and mortar retail stores and online but the purple model will only be available through the online store.

It would be really good if Computerworld didn't just repeat the confusion Telstra and others continue to spew out.

"This plan includes $600 worth of calls and MMS messages"

What the hell is $600 worth of calls?

Why they continue to be allowed to make such rediculous remarks is beyond me. The least Computerworld could do would be to refuse to repeat these statements.
