The Northern Territory government has unveiled an app for iPhone, Android and Windows smartphones which will allow users to access government quotations and tenders.
According to NT minister for corporate and information services Adam Giles, the app is the first of its kind in Australia for government procurement.
“It will provide easy access to current tenders and future opportunities released each week,” he said in a statement.

The app has already received the thumbs up from NT construction company Allan King & Sons. King said it would allow his workers to view new opportunities while on job sites and refer these tenders back to the head office.
In addition, the NT government has made upgrades to the quotations and tenders online (QTOL) system.
These enhancements allow businesses to view, track and lodge tenders electronically in one system via the NT tenders website.
Under the previous QTOL model, businesses had to view tenders in a separate computer system before opening a separate portal to lodge tenders.
