Radware buys Strangeloop for Web acceleration in $8.4M deal

Application delivery vendor Radware has bought Web acceleration provider Strangeloop for $8.4 million and will sell its products under a new name.
The Strangeloop products and services, renamed FastView, will flesh out Radware's application delivery gear to support faster download of Web pages.

In addition to making for a better user experience with corporate Web apps, it can make consumer-to-business transactions faster.
FastView includes physical and virtual appliances and a cloud service. Radware plans to integrate Strangeloop technology as a software module for its Alteon application delivery controller.
"This is an invaluable capability as we've seen an aggressive adoption of SaaS, mobile and cloud technologies where user response time is critical for business continuity," says Ilan Kinreich, COO of Radware.
Strangeloop's founder and president Joshua Bixby becomes a vice president at Radware. The purchase increases the number of Radware employees by 20, giving Radware more than 800 employees.
