NextDC hires CTO

NextDC CTO Paul Gampe.
Brisbane head-quartered data centre provider NextDC has recruited Paul Gampe in the newly created role of chief technology officer.
A NextDC spokesperson said the CTO position was created due to growth in the company’s IT functions.
Gampe will be based in Brisbane and responsible for the development of information management systems with an emphasis on security, governance and software.
He will also be managing customer facing platforms such as data-centre-as-a-service platform OneDC.
Gampe previously worked at Red Hat for 10 years and was most recently vice president of world-wide engineering services and operations.
Prior to Red Hat, he was general manager of TWICS, the first public Internet service provider (ISP) in Japan.
