Apple App Store downloads hit 40 billion

More than 40 billion apps have been downloaded from Apple's App Store, with nearly half of app downloads occurring in 2012.
Apple said a record 2 billion apps were downloaded in December last year.
“It has been an incredible year for the iOS developer community,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of internet software and services, said in a statement.
“Developers have made over $7 billion dollars on the App Store and we continue to invest in providing them with the best ecosystem so they can create the most innovative apps in the world.”
There are currently more than 500 million active accounts in the App Store. The App Store was launched in 2008, and it hit the 1 billion download mark in 2009.

It's fine to state that there is this huge number of downloads via the apps store through the itunes ecosystem - BUT the latest version of itunes (including the patch that was going to fix the problems with 11.0) is the biggest pile of you know what to date! Apple get your crap together - maps, crap itunes release and you want us to keep sending out money in your ecosystem - get the bloody thing fixed!
