AAPT announced it has agreed to acquire the Nextep DSL business from NEC Australia. The deal is part of a long-term partnership between AAPT and NEC, AAPT said.
The companies declined to say how much AAPT will pay for Nextep, which is a wholesale broadband provider. The company expects to complete the deal by 30 November.
The acquisition is subject to “several standard sales conditions” and does not require regulatory approval, AAPT said. NEC and AAPT declined to give more details on the conditions.
“AAPT is delighted to welcome all the Nextep customers and is confident, given our extensive broadband experience, they will continue to be well served,” said AAPT CEO David Yuile.
AAPT recently announced it is developing business broadband plans delivered through the NBN.
