NSW cancer patients and GPs can now use a website to search for healthcare specialists.
Cancer Institute NSW has set up Canrefer.org.au which allows people to search for their closest specialist healthcare teams.
The site also includes information on the closest radiation, oncology, chemotherapy, palliative care and cancer genetics units.
Using a Google search, visitors to the website can search for information according to the geographical location and type of cancer to be treated.
The website also offers practical information including maps, opening hours, parking facilities and contact details for cancer care coordinators.
"This means more informed and timely referrals can be made by doctors, based on the individual needs of their patient," NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner said.
