Internode offers new NBN-equivalent FTTH plans to more customers

FTTH plans start from $49.95 for 30GB per month

Internet service provider (ISP), Internode, has introduced fibre to the home (FTTH) plans at 20 real estate developments around Australia that align prices with its NBN services.

Starting at $49.95 per month and offering speeds of 12/1 megabits per second (Mbps) with a 30GB data quota, residents at real estate developments in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia will have access to the plans.

The most expensive plan costs $164.95 for 100 Mbps and 1000GB of data. The cost includes Internode’s setup charge of $99 plus one month of fibre broadband plan rental.

Internode product manager, Jim Kellett, said in a statement that it also has introduced optional power and business packs so customers can “tailor their fibre service to their needs”, and its previous fibre plans have become out-dated.

Kellet also said that customers can choose to take up the new plans without having to be automatically migrated. “Customers will not be automatically migrated to the new plans, but can select them by going to our website,” he said in a statement.

Kellett added that its fibre services at Point Cook and South Brisbane would remain at higher prices than the new plans because of the “uncompetitive” wholesale pricing offered by Telstra.

Internode recently became the first Australian ISP to make Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) available by default for new customers.
