Tech Pac axes senior staff

Tech Pacific, Australia's largest distributor, has retrenched four key, senior personnel and 21 other staff this week as a result of its failed attempt to find a buyer last month.
Tech Pac is refusing to talk at this stage, but sources have revealed that David Henderson, director of categories; Fiona Stewart, marketing communications manager; David Higgins networking and communications category manager; and David Patnaik, software category manager, have all been retrenched.
The 21 other staff were spread across various divisions of the business in a shake-out that is obviously designed to dramatically slash overheads in a tightening market.
A receptionist at Tech Pacific confirmed that all four were no longer working there.
Fallout from the failed sale by Hagemeyer of its Asian distribution group (Tech Pacific Holdings) has not been restricted to Tech Pacific Australia -- channel stalwart David Arnott is no longer working at Hagemeyer Asia Pacific.
In a management reshuffle, David Cullen still rules the roost as managing director. Ann Mossman returns to her former position of director, sales and marketing, while there are now just three category managers across the entire range of products offered by Tech Pacific.
