OEM Technology and MyCyberTwin take out Australian Technology Showcase awards

Both take home $15,000 in prizes

Two Sydney-based technology companies have taken out major export prizes at the 2011 New South Wales Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) Patron Awards.

OEM Technology and MyCyberTwin won the ATS Patrons Award and Rising Star Award respectively, with both companies receiving $15,000 prize money from NSW Trade and Investment.

NSW deputy premier and minister for trade and investment, Andrew Stoner, spoke at the event, saying that OEM in particular has made a big impact on the international market thanks to having Nokia Siemens Networks, Knorr-Bremse, Faiveley Transport, Thales and Vossloh Kiepe as customers.

“OEM is exporting its technology into South East Asia, North America, South America and Europe and reports sales growth of more than 30 per cent per annum over the past three years,” Stoner said.

“[This is] primarily due to exports, while committing 7.7 per cent of revenues back into research and development.”

As well as the prize money, both companies will receive commercialisation support from Invetech, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Spruson & Ferguson.

MyCyberTwin made waves back in 2009 when it first launched CyberTwin; a robot that can handle such tasks as personalised customer support, client sales or even entertainment and companionship.
