The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) has confirmed its equity trading has been halted due to technical difficulties.
ASX spokesperson, Leanne Bland, told Computerworld Australia that the market will be halted until the issue is resolved.
“We’ve put the market into enquire mode which effectively holds the market for trading,” Bland said.
“[We have] no details yet on how long [it will be down for], but naturally we’ll seek to resolve it as quickly as we can and we’ll keep the market updated.”
Bland said information about the outage will be updated on the ASX website.
“Information will be updated on the ASX.com.au website but certainly we’ll have communication with our participants and traders,” she said.
The outage is the second of its kind this year, with trade being halted due to a ICT systems failure in February.
