Outback Stores has selected Territory Technology Solutions (TTS) for a three-year tender to provide IT infrastructure, services and support across its 27 sites.
The government owned enterprise, which manages stores on behalf of Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia, will consolidate its ICT requirements as part of the tender.
Outback Stores’ CEO, Steve Moore, said the move continues an existing relationship with TTS, and will be crucial to maintaining remote IT support.
“The appointment of a single ICT partner is an important step forward in ensuring greater consistency in ICT strategy and service across our business,” Moore said.
“TTS has proven its worth as a partner that is willing and able to provide remote support in some very difficult circumstances.”
With all sites connected via a virtual private network, the tender will also incorporate a fail-over functionality used in conjunction with a high availability mode router, as well as a cellular broadband adaptor wirelessly connected threat management (UTM) devices.
News of the tender comes as NBN Co announced earlier this year that rural and remote Australians would have access to broadband services similar to their city cousins with the launch of the National Broadband Network's (NBN) Interim Satellite Service.
