AGIMO further expands telco panel

Six more companies have been appointed, including Alcatel-Lucent and Dimension Data

The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) has further expanded its new telecommunications services panel, adding six additional companies making a total of 22.

AGIMO announced the six appointed companies in a blog post, and includes Alcatel-Lucent, Dimension Data, Electroboard Solutions, Housely Consulting, Rob Dobson and Associates, and Stratatel. They join the likes of Telstra, Fujitsu, Transact and most recently, Cisco and UXC.

“A small number of companies may be added to the panel in the near future, as negotiations and contractual arrangements are finalised,” the blog post reads.

The Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connections Services Panel was established on 14 June this year but was first announced back in August 2010 via a request for tender. It has an initial term of three years, providing access to telecommunications carriage services, including major internet connections.

The three-year term may also be extended by the Department of Finance and Deregulation for a further two twelve-month periods.

I am the Finance (AGIMO) senior executive responsible for whole of government coordinated procurement. A little clarification is required here.

Alcatel-Lucent, Dimension Data, Electroboard Solutions, Housely Consulting, Rob Dobson and Associates, and Stratatel have been announced as joining the Telecommunications Management Services panel. They do join Cisco, UXC, Telstra and Fujitsu. The full list of panellists can be found on AusTender here - http://bit.ly/pi7lLq.

Telstra, Fujitsu and Transact are panellists on the Internet Based Network Connections Services Panel which is described on AusTender here - http://bit.ly/rltk1k. Viewers of that link will note that NextGen, Optus and AAPT have been added to the IBNC Panel today. We'll blogging about that later today.
