Macquarie University Hospital (MUH) has halved its payroll processing time one year after rolling out a time and attendance system.
MUH human resources manager, Sharon Kuhn, said the system has improved productivity at the hospital, which opened last year, fitting in with its digital focus.
“Our time in terms of payroll processing has been more than halved,” Kuhn said.
“ ... We improved not only the productivity of our HR and payroll processes, but also that of our managers by reducing manual administration of timesheets, freeing up those staff for more value-added activities.”

MUH deployed with Kronos because of its use of biometric technology to record time and attendance of staff members.
“The biometric scanning gives managers instant access to employees’ time,” Kuhn said.
“It’s a very quick and easy system to scan in and out, taking about point eighth of a second.”
Next on Macquarie’s IT agenda is a move to automating other operations, with the hospital looking at eliminating further manual entry procedures.
