AIIA await responses on election wishlist

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has released its election wishlist for the information and communication technology (ICT) industry.

The association has outlined eight areas it considers requires "urgent" attention from the major political parties: government ICT arrangements, investment and trade, innovation, education and skills, industry development, government procurement, taxation and regulatory framework and infrastructure.

The AIIA is currently awaiting responses from the Government, the Australian Labor Party and Australian Democrats on these issues.

The association intends to update its election Web site as responses are received from the parties and grade the parties against these eight policy areas. http://www.aiia.com.au/cgi-bin/frontnews.cgi?crumb=news&website=news&page=election
