Update
The ANZ has confirmed its internet banking service went down about 10.45am Eastern Australian time and was fully restored at 12.05pm.
According to a bank spokesperson a "technical failure that caused the system to reboot" was responsible for the outage.
"Neither the ATM network or our bank’s eftpos system was affected by the service disruption," the spokesperson said.
Original story
The ANZ bank (ASX:ANZ) is reporting that its online banking is currently down and expected to be unavailable till midday AEST today.
“#ANZ Internet Banking is currently unavailable. We are working to have it back up by midday AEST -sorry for inconvenience. Will update again” an update from the bank’s Money Manager Twitter account reads.
The bank’s site also informs customers that the internet banking is currently unavailable.
“We are working to have ANZ Internet Banking available again as soon as possible,” the site reads.
The site advises customers to contact ANZ Phone Banking, find an ATM or branch, and to use ANZ’s iPhone app, goMoney, for urgent banking needs.
The outage follows similar glitches from the likes of the Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and NAB in recent months.
In April millions of employees were left without their pay amid mixed messages from the National Australia Bank when a fault crashed its payments system.
Westpac experienced issues in March with its online banking portal when some customers unable to log in to the service.
The Commonwealth Bank’s glitch also in March resulted in some personal account holders being unable to transfer money or pay bills using NetBank, Mobile Banking and Telephone Banking.
The site appeared to be working as at 12pm AEST today.
ANZ has been contacted for comment on the outage.

Why did you post an article headling it with "ANZ internet banking offline" at 12:07 then at the bottom of the article a little note saying it was online at 12pm.
Should your headline be "ANZ internet banking was offline but is now online", or wouldn't that be sensationalist enough for you.
Seems like hack reporting to me.
PS: I don't work for ANZ - just hate average journalists.
