Yahoo to sell Delicious to Stumble Upon?

US$1m deal thought to be on the cards

Yahoo is thought to be in the process of wrapping up a deal to sell bookmarking service Delicious for $1m.

Delicious was acquired by Yahoo in 2005 and allows web users to 'bookmark' pages and share them with friends and family.

The service has been up for sale since December.

"We're actively thinking about the future of Delicious and we believe there is a home outside the company that would make more sense for the service and our users," Yahoo said in a blog last year in which it was also forced to deny it was shutting down the service.

According to Business Insider, the potential buyer could be a similar site such as Stumble Upon, which recently raised $17m in funding. However, StumbleUpon and Yahoo would not respond to request for comment.

Delicious was founded in 2003. Its founder, Joshua Schachter, left Yahoo in 2008, worked at Google and is now an angel investor in technology companies.
