MOKO.mobi, Quickflix name new CFOs

Mobile social networking company MOKO.mobi (ASX:MKB) and online movie rental company Quickflix (ASX:QFX) have both hired new CFOs

Internet-based services companies MOKO.mobi (ASX:MKB) and Quickflix (ASX:QFX) on Monday both revealed they had appointed new CFOs.

Mobile social networking platform developer MOKO.mobi (ASX:MKB) said it had appointed chartered accountant Ashley Salter as its new CFO.

Salter has fifteen years' experience in senior financial roles in the technology sector, including with Fujitsu Australia, Supply Chain Consulting, Paxus Australia and Novell Asia-Pacific.

Explaining the appointment, MOKO.mobi chief esecutive, Ian Rodwell, said it had previously been outsourcing the CFO duties to a specialist accounting firm.

“But with our international expansion and the company's growth plans, we have reached the stage where the demands for the company call for this role to be in-house,” he said.

He said MOKO.mobi had so far negotiated 22 carrier deals for its eponymous platform.

Separately Quickflix, the online movie rental company, said it had hired non-executive director, Ross McCreath, as its own CFO.

McCreath has had a 20-year career in media organisations, including CFO roles with WIN Corporation, Southern Star Group and Australis Media.

He will stay on the board as an executive director. McCreath joined the board in November 2009.
