IT recruitment firm Greythorn will providing its candidates with a free iProfile online resume.
Greythorn says more than four million people in the UK, Europe and Australia already use iProfile.
Managing director Richard Fischer says iProfile will allow the company to match candidates to jobs faster while giving job seekers more control over their own information than a standard resume.
At iProfile Asia Pacific, managing director Glen Perry said Greythorn is already a client in the UK and there are some 500,000 IT candidates with an iProfile in Australia.
“This represents over 90 per cent of the IT candidates in Australia and establishes a real critical mass in the market,” Perry said.
According to Greythorn, most recruitment agencies automatically extract and enter resume information into their databases for recruiters to search against.
With no visibility or control over how their resume information is presented to recruiters after it has been processed coupled with resume parsing technology not being 100 per cent accurate, candidates can be poorly matched for jobs.
From now on Greythorn will automatically convert job seekers’ resumes into an iProfile which can be reviewed online.
The benefits of using an iProfile above a traditional resume is that candidates get immediate visibility over who’s received it, who’s viewed it and it encourages direct feedback from recruiters, according to Greythorn.

Nice idea shame about the execution
It's a cool idea, in a way. Pity they completely failed at execution, especially with an all in and opt-out policy.
