Powerlan (ASX:PWR) subsidiary ConverterTechnology has launched a new Microsoft file migration support tool it calls Click2Fix.
ConverterTechnology, which provides software and services based on Microsoft software such as Office 2010, said the new online file submission tool aims to streamline communications between end-users and IT departments.
Using Click2Fix, users can choose which files to submit to the team handling migration of documents to Office 2010.
The IT team will receive automatic email notification when an upload occurs, and when the migration is complete the system will notify end-users that the output files are ready to download.
“The IT department is typically responsible for file storage, but has no way of knowing what each file contains, or which are business-critical,” ConverterTechnology president, Shawn Allaway, explained.
“Business leaders know which files are instrumental for daily operations, but don't have an easy way to identify those files to IT.” He said Click2Fix aims to fill this gap.
Allaway said he expected 2011 to be the year of the biggest technology upgrade since Y2K, due to the recovering economy and the current stage in the lifecycle of Windows 7 and Office 2011.
ConverterTechnology also offers tools aimed at migrating Windows and Office files, including OfficeConverter and LinkFixerPlus.
PWR shares stayed unchanged in Wednesday's trading at $0.030, and had remained flat during Thursday morning.
