The Victorian Government’s shared services IT agency, CenITex has opted for global software provider, BMC for its operations monitoring and management platform.
CenITex will use use BMC’s Proactive Operations technology to improve its operational efficiencies and customer support activities, as a part of the agency’s commitment to the Efficient Technology Services (ETS) program.
This follows the decision last year by CenITex to select BMC Software as its IT service management provider.
“CenITex is an important customer for BMC and its decision to extend its relationship with us is an important milestone,” BMC Software ANZ country manager, Gary Mitchell, said.
In June, the organisation announced it was looking to improve its organisational capability, processes and tools to facilitate information security management.
The initiative, part of a wider efficient technology services program, is to see the upgrade of its capability to deliver ICT threat and vulnerability management (TVM) to government agencies and departments, better secure its own operating environment and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
The government agency recently chose Dimension Data and storage vendor NetApp to provide storage, backup and recovery services in what was described as a private cloud computing deal.
