Internet service provider, Internode has flagged its intention to increasingly target the business market, announcing the opening of a Brisbane office to dirctly service its existing and expanding customer base in the sunshine state.
With offices already operating out of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, the ISP has taken the next step in creating a national presence with the Adelaide Street, Brisbane office which will help grow the ISP's business install base -- currently standing at 40 per cent of the company's revenues.
“Our primary focus is on building business relationships... Whereas residential broadband sales are quite straightforward decisions, based on quality of service and price, business purchases are more complicated," Internode national sales manager, Daryl Knight, said in a statement.
"The team we’re putting into our Brisbane office will assist businesses with choosing the right configuration of services to meet their specific needs.”
In light of this the office, with an initial staff of four, will consist of two business development managers, a pre-sales engineer and a sales support/office administration staffer. According to Knight Queensland was increasingly an important source of growth for the company, contributing almost 15 per cent of revenues in the past financial year, and was a clear next step in its national expansion plans.
As previously reported by Computerworld Australia, the ISP has acknowledged the need to provide “substantial” upgrades to its broadband plans to compete with the recent flurry of competitive plans with high monthly data quotas.
