First Ciena hire to manage Optus, AAPT accounts

A former Telstra manager will oversee parts of the Optus network under his new appointment to US-based networking company, Ciena.

Stephan Wagner will take on the role of account director for the northern region, taking responsibility for major customer accounts north of the Victorian border, including the likes of Optus and AAPT.

Prior to this appointment, Wagner ran his own telco business, before which he held management roles with Telstra, Cisco, Nokia and Optus.
