CA reframes business units, changes leadership

CA Technologies has announced the realignment of five business units, appointing new unit heads to spruik its new brand and help it find direction in the Australian marketplace.
The company’s vice president and area manager A/NZ, Brenton Smith, said the appointments put in place the best teams for the business units, and will maximise their role in driving CA’s new brand locally as well as pushing its’ cloud connected enterprise strategy.
Each new business unit director will be responsible for localising product strategy for the Australian market as well as being the point of contact for product management across each business unit.
Carl Terrantroy has been appointed as head of CA’s new, virtual cloud business unit, which will lead the way for the company’s additional four business units. Prior to joining CA, Carl was the director and manager of the business development team at Oracle A/NZ.
Service assurance will be headed by David Balazsy, was previously regional sales manager for MKS Software where he launched the MKS sales operation in Australia and New Zealand.
Peter Sharples, who joined CA in 2008 following roles with Symantec and Telstra, will head virtualisation and service automation, while John Kearney will lead the clarity and security unit after joining CA in 2005.
The mainframe business unit will be led by Savio Saldanha, with experience in the Middle East and European countries as well as with Australian Customs and Boarder Protection in Australia.
