HTC releases Legend Android phone

Exchange and Flash support included

HTC and Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) have teamed to launch the Android-powered Legend handset to the local market.

The Legend will be available from June 3 exclusively on the Vodafone and 3 mobile networks.

Vodafone will give people a Legend for $0 upfront on its $49 cap plan, or the device can be purchased outright for $599.

Ross Parker, general manager of devices and pricing at VHA said the Legend is a highly anticipated mobile, “combining great aesthetics with the evolutionary Android OS”.

“It's a mobile we think our customers will love,” Parker said.

The Legend brings to six the number of Android-based devices HTC has launched on the local market – all in the space of 18 months. Beginning with the G1 Dream, HTC also has [[artnid:304851, Tattoo, Hero and Desire devices on sale.

HTC’s sales and marketing director for Australia and New Zealand Anthony Petts said the Legend is the newest addition to the company’s family of Andorid devices and brings a fresh level of personalisation for mobile users.

“This device allows users to create and define their own unique mobile experience through HTC’s user interface, HTC Sense. The Legend also includes social media integration with Facebook, HTC Peep for twittering and Friend Stream.”

The Legend features HTC’s Sense UI, an optical joystick, 3.2-inch Amoled display, 3.5 mm audio jack,

Software features include support for Exchange security features like password protection and remote data wipe and Adobe Flash support.
