Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment renews $5 million spatial data management contract

Logica wins contract for another three years

The Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) has renewed its $5 million spatial data management contract with Logica for another three years.

The deal will ensure important state information about properties, addresses, crown lands, infrastructure and administrative boundaries are made available when it’s most needed.

Government industry director of Logica, Paul Sargeant, said it is important Victorian communities can rely on such systems for a quick response in case of emergency or locating a street.

“It is vital that the Victorian State Government has the most reliable data as this information is relied upon by local and national businesses, councils, and the general public,” he said in a statement.

“Logica was selected for its specialist expertise and long-term experience in providing IT, geographical spatial systems, system design and support, spatial datasets, and data content.”

Logica will manage and maintain Victoria’s address and property data, known as Vicmap land administration themes, as well as supplying data to DSE.
