NBN Co has announced that it has selected Sydney and Melbourne offices, the latter within shouting distance of key government regulators, the ACMA and ACCC.
NBN CO’s Sydney office, subject to an eight year lease, will be based across three levels at Innovation Place, Arthur Street, North Sydney as of mid June.
Its Melbourne office will be based at Elizabeth Street in the same building housing , the ACCC and ACMA.
The company said it was also in the process of setting up offices in Canberra and Hobart to support the first NBN release sites.
Ever conscious of costs, the company’s head of corporate services, Kevin Brown, added that the North Sydney location was selected largely base on its being offered at a 30 per cent rental discount compared to Sydney CBD offices.
Early this month the NBN Co announced it had hired Accenture for its HR administration, records management, recruitment administration and performance and rewards administration. NBN Co currently has 100 employees, but this is expected to grow to 300 by the middle of the year.
It also poured cold water on reports that it would contact the employers of prospect executives who attempted to jump ship from other telecommunications providers.
