VerticalNet Inc., a provider of business-to-business e-commerce solutions, announced that it will integrate technology from Nextlink Communications Inc., a global trade management solutions provider, into its technology platforms.
VerticalNet will offer a trading solution, which includes Nextlink's Global Knowledge technology, that the company claims streamlines business processes across geographically dispersed locations. Nextlink's products simplify the exporting, importing, buying, selling, and shipping of products globally.
The company's Global Knowledge software enables users to classify products, screen shipments and orders, calculate landed costs prior to purchase, and ensure compliance with government regulations.
