The forth annual Australian Network Operators Group (AusNOG) conference has been set for September 16 and 17 this year in Sydney.
The conference is a meeting point for an international and local community of network operators working for ISPs and content providers to discuss the burning issues in telecommunications and share experiences and technical information "over a beer or three" at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The speakers have not yet been confirmed, but last year's conference included Arbor Networks Asia Pacific solutions architect, Roland Dobbins, speaking on the 2009 RoK/USA Denial of Service attacks and the implications on virtualisation and cloud computing and Exchange Point.net's Bill Manning who discussed issues surrounding Domain Name Servers.
The event follows the annual NZNOG conference, also sponsored by Vocus Communications, which will be held on January 27 to 29 and includes talks by ICANN DNS group director, Joe Abley, DrPeering.net founder, William B. Norton, and Cisco CTO consulting engineer, Philip Smith.
