NewSat gets new satellite contract wins

Satellite communications provider secures new wins to boost revenue

ASX-listed satellite communications company, NewSat (ASX:NWT) has announced two new contract wins worth $1 million each over 12 months.

In a statement to the ASX, the company said it could not reveal the names of its new clients. However, it described the first win as a deal to provide "voice and data communications on the Gorgon gas Project on Barrow Island" and the second as a three-year contract with a Defence Force contractor.

The deals have pushed the company's monthly annuity revenue above the $1.9 million mark.

NewSat is an independently operated satellite communications provider based in Melbourne with facilities in Perth and Adelaide.

It has previously flagged its intentions to launch "Australia’s first non-foreign owned GEO-stationary satellite", which it has called Jabiru-1.
