Retro-styled 2D Dark Void coming to DSiWare

Earlier today, Capcom revealed via its Unity Blog that Dark Void will be landing on the DSi next month, with a 2D retro-styled action-platformer called Dark Void Zero.
Dark Void Zero, which will sell for US$5 on the Nintendo DSi's downloadable service, centers around a character born in the void named Rusty as he flies and fights through three levels. While he, like the protagonist of the HD iterations of Dark Voidis aided by Nikola Tesla, it is unknown if the events of the game fall before or after those of the retail release.
While the boxart seems to indicate a Mega Man influence, I'm sort of seeing an amalgamation of two other NES games in the Dark Void Zero footage — Contra and The Rocketeer. For only five bucks, though, I'm willing to learn more about this game next month.
