Ausenco Chief Information Officer (Group) Paul Young's top considerations when purchasing a mid- to high-end storage array:
1. Scalability — to allow seamless growth with the business
2. Interoperability — plays nice with various hosts OS’s, especially VMware, and also easy replication to other vendor arrays, virtual systems and high end storage arrays
3. Reliability — high levels of redundancy (thankfully most, if not all have this)
4. Manageability — easy management and availability of trained staff
