iiNet rolls out DSLAM services in eight regions

Internet service provider (ISP), iiNet, will roll out DSLAM network infrastructure to eight regional areas.

Existing customers in the eight areas – Bunbury (West Australia); Geelong (Victoria); Toowoomba, Mooloolaba and Cloundra (Queensland); and Coffs Harbour, Wollongong and Campbelltown (NSW) – will receive an upgrade to the faster broadband.

In a statement, iiNet CEO Michael Malone said the DSLAM deployment would let the ISP offer faster and cheaper broadband.

“We have a number of other regional communities actively on our radar for future expansion," he said. “The key issue for us, particularly in regional Australia, has always been the availability of competitive backhaul. Where that exists, we are always open to investing to add to our network so more Australians can have the option of choosing faster, more affordable broadband.”
