Cyberoam has launched iView, a centralised logging and reporting solution that allows businesses to see ‘who uses what’ on their networks.
With the launch, the network security company is claiming to be the first company from the unified threat management (UTM) market to make the leap into the security information and event management (SIEM) sector, worth an estimated $US 1.3 billion.
“With the rise in insider threats and the consequent rise in security breaches and regulatory compliance requirements, we saw a broader need for user-centric reporting beyond Cyberoam’s own UTM security,” Cyberoam vice president for product management, Abhilash Sonwane, said.
The iView system is open source, allowing enterprises and other users to adapt the software to their specific needs quickly, and without expending large amounts of capital, according to the company.
The system can manage and collate logs in real-time from a variety of devices and locations, and includes extensive security auditing features that allow companies to measure the effectiveness of their own security policies.
The software is available for free download from Sourceforge, and can integrate with network tools such as SonicWall and Fortigate, along with other open source software like Linux’s iptables/netfilter firewall.
