Peg appointments boost US operation

Peg Technology has added some muscle to its activities in the US by appointing a president of US operations and adding a US lawyer to its board.

Greg Hauca, who has joined the company as president of US operations, was previously with Distribution America, a hardware buying group servicing 25,000 hardware retailers, where he had responsibility for technology and business development. His focus with Peg will be on sales of the Australian developer's Pacsoft product to retail hardware buying groups, and sales of Peg's other POS and e-commerce software into the general US market.

At the same time Peg has appointed John Starr as a non-executive director. Bruce Mackenzie, managing director of Peg, said Starr has enjoyed a high profile career that has included acting as corporate and tax legal counsel for Howard Hughes, and working on behalf of Paul Allen and other investors as an adviser for private technology company. He is currently "VC in residence" for the venture capital firm GRP II in Los Angeles, Mackenzie said.
