National ISP Internode has appointed its first chief operating officer (COO) to manage its customer service, sales, media and product management business units.
The appointment of Liz Cornelissen to COO comes after a 12-month management restructure by the company.
Cornelissen has been at Internode for six years and was most recently in the role of customer services manager.
During the past year the company also appointed Mike Damms as its first CIO. Internode founder Simon Hackett continues his role as the company’s managing director.
CEO Patrick Tapper said Cornelissen previously held senior management positions with Reuters and AAP and the COO role is a new one within Internode that will lead a number of important transformations for the business.
Cornelissen said her role was to ensure Internode maintained and improved quality as it grew.
“We need to focus on our core business and ensure we maintain superior customer service and innovative products,” she said.
“We’ll continue to do that by staying ahead of the industry. I think Internode is better placed to succeed in the next few years than it has ever been. I am very excited to be playing a central role in the company’s future successes.”
Internode has 430 employees and some 150,000 broadband customers around Australia.
