Lady Gaga unveils new pair of headphones

Androgynous megastar storms IFA with new headphones

International music star Lady Gaga brought some glamor to the IFA electronics fair in Berlin on Monday when she launched a new series of headphones developed with Monster Cable.

Lady Gaga, whose fashion and catchy lyrics have gained her a string of hits around the world, said the Heartbeats by Lady Gaga earbud headphones were designed to look like a pair of earrings while producing good quality audio.

"They are designed to be the first ever fashion accessories that double as the absolute best sonically sounding headphones in the world," said Lady Gaga. "These headphones look a lot like the jackets my friends and I wear in New York. They are all studded and metal."

The earbuds will be available in three colors: white, black and red.

"Red's the new pink," she said.

The launch of the new earbuds follows the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones that Monster launched late last year. As the name suggests, they were designed by music producer and artist Dr. Dre.

The headphones have just launch in Australia for an RRP of $135.
