Microsoft co-founder and chairman Bill Gates has admitted he tried using social networking site Facebook, but found it irritating as he was overcome with friend requests.
Gates travelled to India last week to receive the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for his charity work through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
“I get 10,000 friend requests everyday. It gets so irritating,” Gates said at a business forum in New Dehli, according to MSN India.
"It was just way too much trouble so I gave it up."
Gates also criticised US immigration policies, saying the US Government was too tough on immigration.

Bill, but you did accept my friend request. But now that you have shutdown your page, I have lost my best friend. How about compensating me for my grief? A million would really bring down the grief by a long way.

Give rich fella a break, won't you?
There's only certain amount of attention per brain, and my money can buy it.
Can you imagine the cost of that fraction of time in his life?
Obviously the down sides became bigger.
Or... they simply want to start their own service and there's an internal and confidential trial of such service ongoing. How about "msFriends"? "BillBoards"? "palmaker"... ehr "windows friend connect"
