Internode kickstarts its mobile broadband

Internet service provider (ISP), Internode, has finally jumped on the mobile wireless broadband bandwagon with a new service.

Called, NodeMobile Data, the service will run on the Optus 3G broadband network received through a wireless data modem. Only two plans are available: 250MB for $14.95 and 3GB for $39.95. There are no automatic excess download charges and customers have an option to buy "Data Blocks" for an extra burst of data.

While Internode is a late entry into the mobile broadband market, product manager, John Kellett, said the ISP wanted to ensure the quality of the product and expressed hopes the new service would make Internode a more attractive broadband provider.

“It adds an extra platform for our customers that broadens our service offering to meet their needs,” Kellett said.

In a statement, Kellett, also highlighted future plans to include business-orientated applications to the broadband service, such as static IP.

NodeMobile Data is set to be released on April 28.
