New Westpac call centre likely in SA

Westpac Banking Corporation is in negotiations to establish a new call centre in the ex-Ansett call centre site at Bedford Park, South Australia.
Up to 350 new jobs would be created at the centre over the next three years. This is in addition to the existing 320 staff in Westpac's Adelaide call centres.
Westpac's general manager, service network, Leslie Martin said: "Westpac's existing Adelaide call centres currently share space with the EDS Credit Services centre (formerly The Mortgage Centre) at Lockleys. The current set-up leaves both EDS and us with limited scope to expand.
"The prospective site is purpose-built, less than two years old and will allow us to install the latest technology."
Once negotiations are finalised, Westpac plans to upgrade the existing facilities at Bedford Park.
A spokesperson for Westpac said the bank would like to be up and running with the call centre by the last quarter of this year.
