Classification board Web site hacked

Defacement appears to be from an anti-Web filter group

OFLC site was hacked Thursday night

The Office of Film and Literature Classification (OLFC) Web site has been defaced by what appears to be a group opposed to the government's Internet content filtering plan.

The defacement, possibly a SQL injection attack, is the latest move to shake-up the federal government's Internet content filtering scheme. It seems to have appeared for less than a few hours before the site was taken offline, leaving a blank bad request page.

The OFLC is responsible for the classification of film, computer games, print publications, and Internet content inconjunction with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Computerworld captured a screenshot of the hacked site and an excerpt of the attack is below.

"this site contains information about the boards that have the right to CONTROL YOUR FREEDOMZ. The Classification Board has the right to not just classify content (the name is an ELABORATE TRICK), but also the right to DECIDE WHAT IS AND ISNT APPROPRAITE and BAN CONTENT FROM THE PUBLIC. We are part of an ELABORATE DECPETION from CHINA to CONTROL AND SHEEPIFY the NATION, to PORTECT THE CHILDREN. All opposers must HATE CHILDREN, and therfore must be KILLED WITH A LARGE MELONS during the PROSECUTION PARTIES IN SEPTEMBER. Come join our ALIEN SPACE PARTY."

Hacking Grammar

This individual or group obviously have enough technical savvy to circumvent standard firewall controls, it's just a pity they couldn't then deliver a good quality message.

Where has all the quality, not to mention literacy gone in the hacking community ?

Come on guys, lift you game, if you plan to indulge in senseless acts of electronic violence at least try and deliver a clear and intelligible message !

Had the "hackers" placed images of child pornography on the OFLC site rather than just bogus text, would the ACMA include the site on their blacklist? In theory, to completely protect the children, every site vulnerable to SQL injection should be blacklisted. Or perhaps it would be easier to just block the hypertext transfer protocol alltogether. But wait, what about peer to peer? Or FTP? Screw it, let's just ban the Internet.

"Come on guys, lift you game, if you plan to indulge in senseless acts of electronic violence at least try and deliver a clear and intelligible message !"

The type of speak the delivered is very highly used. It is not just bad typing, it is a popular style or writing used by many when imitating someone they hate, think is an idiot, or implying that they're 'Ima stewpid and retardeded' kind of person.

The OFLC site wouldn't get put on the blacklist as its most likely hosted within Australia. They might've issued a take down order for it. Maybe people should see about submitting video from blacklisted sites for classification.

Then the OFLC might get threatened with the $11k per day fines.

Not one to speak

"lift you game"

Greetings www.computerworld.com.au. I simply thought of if individuals on this page will play Grepolis or currently have gamed it before now?

I am only questioning simply because it might end up being good to successfully have fun with playing at some time with any person.
