Telstra (ASX: TLS) will be offering HTC's Touch Diamond handset, which is being marketed as an 'iPhone killer', next month.
The device boasts features such as a touch-screen which will automatically change orientation based on if the device is being held horizontally or vertically, and HSDPA internet connectivity with 4GB of storage space.
The handset will be used on Telstra's NextG network.
The standalone price of the handset will be $999, and it will also be offered for free with an $80 monthly phone plan.
Apple, who have chosen Telstra competitors Vodafone and Optus as carriers, has yet to reveal the price details of the Australian iPhone.
The iPhone will be launched in Australia on July 11, and the Touch Diamond will follow in a matter of weeks.
